Description

This project is a multi-institutional initiative to study a training curriculum for laparocopic cholecystectomy bile duct exploration. This requires the research student to assist in video data collection of simulator training sessions in the simulation lab, some editing of the data to present for analysis. There will also be a need for collection of patient medical record data to compare patient outcomes from before and after the training initiative. There is opportunity for first authorship on publications for the student.

Specific Aims

The aim of the project is to compare clinical utilization of lap-chole bile duct exploration for clearance of bile duct stones, before and after implementation of a simulator-based training curriculum.

Methods

Video data collection, medical record chart review (EPIC) will be performed.
