The Cisterna Chyli in Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD): Outcomes and Associations

Mentor
Jonathan Chung, MD
Radiology

Description

Right sided heart failure is associated with worse prognosis in ILD. The cisterna chyli may be a marker of this. I want to see if the size of the cisterna chyli can predict prognosis in regard to mortality and decline in pulmonary function.

Specific Aims

Assess if cistern chyli size is associated with outcomes in ILD

Methods

The student would help measure CT scans (probably around 300 scans) and prepare the presentation(s). We have the clinical and outcomes data already so a laborious pull of EMR reports is not necessary. Analysis will be done by separate stats support.
